Founded in 1981 by Shirley Walock and Eldeane Johnson, Walock-Johnson Insurance (WJI) began as the Walock-Johnson Insurance Federal All-Risk Crop Insurance Agency in Lisbon, North Dakota. Built on a foundation of integrity, service, and professionalism, the agency expanded in 1986 to offer all lines of insurance and later merged in 2006 with First National Insurance in Milnor and Rutland. In 2009, JA Insurance Agency of Gwinner also merged with Walock-Johnson Insurance, Inc., further strengthening WJI’s presence in southeastern North Dakota. Today, Walock-Johnson Insurance, Inc. is owned by Walt and Missy Johnson, with Grant Johnson joining as a third-generation owner in 2023 — continuing the family’s proud legacy of community service and customer care.
